Live In-Person Workshop | Thursday June 2 | 7 pm - 9 pm PST

Ever wanted to try singing in a choir but haven’t known where to begin? Perhaps you sang in a choir during high school but it’s been... a while? Or maybe you’re a seasoned chorister and sing in several choirs a week? Join choral conductor Pippa Andrew and singers of Vox Panacea for a fun-filled, two hour singing workshop, for singers of all experience levels. The workshop will help singers connect with their voices, and the voices of others, by creating a safe and supportive environment to explore group singing. Singers will learn basic breathing and vocal techniques, and a two part harmony arrangement of “Roar” by Katy Perry, in preparation for an optional performance at the Conference Opening Event on Friday morning. Practice audio tracks and a musical score for the song will be available prior to the workshop, so singers can learn notes in advance. The first hour is open to everyone wanting to sing, the second hour will be for those intending to perform only. No experience required, all are welcome!

Learning Objectives

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Utilize basic breathing and vocal techniques.

  2. Feel more confident in group singing.

  3. Perform “Roar” by Katy Perry!
